Features

Bluehost Plans – Pricing if you use our referral link*

If you’re just starting out (like me) you probably have almost no knowledge of what it takes to start a blog. Bluehost helps solve most of the tricky setup and lets you get started with writing content and developing your site instead of:

  • Learning how to register a domain
  • Pointing DNS records to the correct web host
  • Securing your site with SSL
  • Setting up a blog email address (critical for keeping a professional appearance working with followers/sponsors)

Just to name a few. I know that I personally struggled through these tasks the hard way and if I had to do it over again Bluehost would be my first (and only) stop.

So what does Bluehost get you?

  • Recommended by WordPress
  • Fully customizable websites
  • Easy to use Dashboard
  • Full Suite of Tools
  • Build-in security
  • Fast Web Pages
  • 24/7 Expert Support
  • Free SSL Certificates
  • Scalability
  • Marketing Credits

Cons

So with all that being said, there are a few negatives to Bluehost that you should be aware of:

  • Introductory rate expires and then pricing is on par with the competition
  • Automatic data backups can be tricky to configure
  • Can’t use both HTTPS (SSL) and SiteLock CDN (Free with hosting plan). (You may be able to work around this with CloudFlare’s free tier).

Summary

Having self-hosted and used Bluehost I would definitely recommend for a new blogger or small-medium sized business that needs a reliable WordPress host to give Bluehost a try. You can get low introductory rates by clicking here. Put a link to your new blog in the comments and I’ll check it out!

Disclosure: I may use affiliate links when linking to products I love. Using an affiliate link does nothing to the cost of the product for you, but it does provide me a commission from Bluehost itself.  Thanks for helping to keep the servers running over here!
